Fungal Infection

In general, colonizing the skin surface with fungi is not dangerous.

Of course, this should be clarified. Infection can take place anywhere.

It affects children and adults alike. Infected areas may include:

  • Scalp,
  • Body surface,
  • Palms and feet
  • Spaces between the toes
  • Nails (hand and foot)

Dr. Sylvia Holle-Robatsch, specialist in Dermatology and Angiology

If fungal disease is suspected, a sample is taken from the skin or nail and checked for fungal infection in the laboratory. If the suspicion hardens, the right therapy can be started.

Laser treatments in the practice, as well as tinctures and solutions which we prepare especially for you, have a supporting effect.

Therapy should be carried out for 3 weeks to prevent relapse.

If the nail plate is infected, home therapy is, unfortunately, necessary for up to 12 months.

We are happy to advise you on preventive measures, treatment of clothing and shoes and possibly a veterinary examination of your pet.
